What has happened? Did you fall asleep and forget that there is a Presidential election in 2008? We've all known that the 2008 election was going to be even more critical than the election of 2004. And just whom were you grooming and positioning to run for office? It's appalling to have such variance of positions held by each potential presidential candidate running on the Republican ticket. Have you forgotten what the Republican platform is?
It's understandable that discussion to establish a third party has been heard as of late. But like it or not, we are a two party government. What the GOP needs to do is get back to it's own roots which are far more extensive than the three issues continually ascribed to the Religious Right. The Republican Platform for religious and non-religious conservatives includes:
Small Government - a government that promotes the will of the people not power grabbing politicians.
Low Taxes - promoting the growth of economy instead of oppressing the people as government naves.
Civil Liberties - for people not chosen behaviors.
Traditional Family - proven to be the foundation of all civilizations and therefore to be protected.
Right to Life - from conception.
Parental Rights - not a Nanny-government who believes parents are unable to do a sufficient job.
Strong National Defense - which includes securing our borders and enforcing immigration laws.
Support of our Military - in training, provision, and post service needs.
Free Enterprise - promoting private-owned over government owned enterprises for a market economy.
Death Penalty - the best deterrent to crime that also promotes true and swift rehabilitation.
Other issues such as: Enforcing English only; Opposing immoral bio-ethics that destroy or scientifically alter human life; Opposing euthanasia; Accomplishing Welfare, Medicare and Social Security reform, Limiting the role of government in education; Promoting school choice; Promoting private health care; Establishing and maintaining a strong National Sovereignty (not a Security and Prosperity Partnership with Canada, the U.S. and Mexico); Support of Israel; Exposing and correcting UN corruption; Promoting market-based solutions to environmental problems; Actively opposing religious discrimination or favoritism; Cracking down on judicial activism; Opposing revisionist history; Properly maintaining public utilities, roads and emergency and protective agencies; Supporting Term limits; Stopping frivolous law-suits; Upholding the vote of the people and thereby our system of government and; upholding our Constitution in areas currently under attack such as Free Speech and Religious Liberties, the Right to Bear Arms, Private Property Rights, and more.
The majority citizens of this nation are not blue. They are red-blooded Americans willing to support a party that upholds our values. Our elected officials must be statesmen and women - civil servants who represent WE THE PEOPLE - not self-serving politicians.
